Electric Actuators (ACT2000)
PECC developed its all-electric actuators to replace old pneumatic or hydraulic technologies.
The ACT2000 is designed for high-temperature, hazardous environments. These all-in-one, self- contained actuators employ patented design features including an explosion-proof, on-board electronic controller. PECC actuators also possess the flexibility to be aligned in any position for valve actuators, guide vanes, bleed and steam valves.
PECC’s ACT2000 eliminates the need for pumps and tubing normally associated with hydro- mechanical designs, which also reduces the high costs of installation and maintenance. Features like these make the ACT2000 attractive to a variety of turbine applications.
The customized digital motor control system is small enough to be housed on-board within the assembly, providing precise movement through a compact, highly-reliable brushless DC motor and ball screw drive mechanism. An on-board resolver provides position feedback.
The actuator is programmable to develop up to 1000 lbf and can travel up to 10 inches per second. It is also capable of achieving extremely tight positioning accuracy–better than ±1% of full stroke. With its unique software, the ACT2000 can be programmed for linear or non-linear stroke curves.
An internal health monitoring system provides fault and over-temperature information to the operator. Real-time motor current, voltage and temperature can be monitored using RS232C or optional, isolated RS485 serial interfaces. PECC’s all-electric actuators are available in two and six-inch stroke configurations.
