Precision Engine Controls Corporation’s new digital PLC-based controllers expand its array of aftermarket turbine control solutions. This development is partly due to the result of current economic conditions and also to the sheer number of inquiries received from customers seeking cost-effective solutions for maintaining their existing systems.
These controllers provide signal conditioning and monitoring plus protection for speed andtemperature-related inputs and represent an ideal replacement for older Bendix analog legacy modules. Since they are powered by a single 24VDC source–and are user-configurable via a laptop PC– they provide the flexibility required to integrate easily into existing control systems.
Several configurations are offered that accommodate inputs for up to six channels of thermocouples, two channels of frequency and four channels of analog input. They also provide outputs for up to 20 channels of discrete logic and four channels of analog out. Temperature algorithms can be provided as an integral part of these products.
Standard units are packaged in a NEMA 4 enclosure but can also be provided in a basic DIN rail-mount configuration. The equipment is suitable for use in Class I, Division 2, non-hazardous locations.
