Remote Actuators (ACT2100)

File 122

PECC developed the ACT2100 all-electric actuator to provide superior ruggedness in the harshest environments.

PECC’s ACT2100 actuator is designed to handle even higher-temperature, higher-vibration hazardous environments than the ACT2000 yet still provides a weatherproof enclosure. It enjoys all of the benefits of the ACT2000 plus quick disconnect military-style connectors. The actuator has the flexibility to be aligned in any orientation for mounting ease.

The actuator is designed to integrate with any third-party servo-electronic controller. This is achieved by mechanically pre-aligning the brushless DC motor and on-board resolver position sensor. One clear benefit is that multiple actuators can now be commanded from a single controller, possibly doubling or tripling the force output. Features like these make the ACT2100 attractive for a variety of applications.

For added convenience, PECC provides a customized digital motor controller, the SEC25, that can be mounted remotely. The SEC25 also uses quick disconnect military-style connectors and a weatherproof enclosure designed for hazardous environments. It provides precise motion control and contains an internal health monitoring system that provides fault and over-temperature information to the operator. Real-time motor current, voltage and temperature can be monitored using isolated RS232C or optional, RS485 serial interfaces.

Used with the SEC25, the actuator is programmable to develop up to 1000 lbf and can travel up to 10 inches per second. It is also capable of achieving extremely tight positioning accuracy – better than ±1% of full stroke. With unique ACTWiz software, the ACT2100 can be programmed for linear or non-linear stroke curves.
